Music Ministry

From the praise band, to the choir, handbells and instrumentals we offer many opportunities to worship and serve in music at FUMC Midlothian! Our music ministry is growing!
Traditional Choir & Music
Choir
With two traditional services, we are looking to establish two separate choirs for those services starting this year. You can chose to sing at the 8:30am service, 11:00am service or in both if you wish. Both choirs will combine for rehearsals on Wednesday night and for special performances such Easter and Christmas. No experience is necessary – just a love for providing God’s word through music and song. Youth and young adults are encouraged to be a part of this ministry and can participate at the 8:30 service with the ability to worship at the 10:50 By-The-Well contemporary service. The Choir is under the direction of Paul Martin and rehearses at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday nights in the Music Ministry Suite located in the Main Building.

Handbell Choir
The FUMC Handbell Choir rehearses on Monday evenings at 6:00 p.m. in the Music Ministry Suite located in the Main Building. They are always seeking new members including youth and young adults. The group performs at least once per quarter and for special seasons like Easter and Christmas. Experience reading music is not required, but encouraged.

Instrumental Ensemble
There is an interest to incorporate instrumentalists into the traditional services at FUMC Midlothian. Do you have an instrument sitting at home waiting to be played or do you play in your local school’s band program? Well, this is the unique opportunity for you! This is a group for middle school students and older. Music selections will include those from the traditional hymnal ranging from easy to medium difficulty.

If you would like to be a part of any of these ministries, please e-mail Paul Martin, Director of Music Ministries, at PaulM@fumcmidlo.org.
Praise Team & Contemporary Music
Praise Team
Our Praise Team performs each Sunday in the “By The Well” Contemporary Service at 10;50am. It is comprised of musicians with various gifts and talents, including but not limited to vocals, guitar, keyboard, bass and drums. Some band members may look different from week to week, because they serve on rotation.

The Praise Team is led by Jason Westbrook and practices Sunday Mornings, before worship. If you are interested in serving on the Praise Team, please contact Jason at jasonw@fumcmidlo.org.
