Hymn #144: This is My Father’s World

This is my Father’s world, and to my listening ears all nature sings,

and round me rings the music of the spheres.

This is my Father’s world: I rest me in the thought of rocks and trees,

Of skies and seas; his hand the wonders wrought.

This is my Father’s world, the birds their carols raise, the morning light,

The lily white, declare their maker’s praise.

This is my Father’s world: he shines in all that’s fair; in the rustling

Grass I hear him pass; he speaks to me everywhere.

Affirmation of Faith: The Apostles Creed, 881, UMC Hymnal

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth;

And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried;

the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven,

and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;

from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic* church, the communion of saints,

the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Contemporary Song: How Great Is Our God – Chris Tomlin

The splendor of a King, clothed in majesty

Let all the earth rejoice, all the earth rejoice

He wraps Himself in light and darkness tries to hide

And trembles at His voice, trembles at His voice

How great is our God, sing with me

How great is our God and all will sing

How great, how great is our God
