“Creating An Atmosphere Where Students Experience Jesus”
Ephesians 3:14-21
It is our desire to make room for Jesus to be the center of our lives so that He may have an impact on the world around us. Our ministries strive to be a place where students have freedom in Christ and know that they are loved through relationships, fellowship, lots of fun and relevant teaching which speaks to their generation.
Our Junior High Ministry is called “Spark”. The name represents the initiation of taking hold of our own faith. Specifically designed for grades 6-8, Spark meets the needs of young Christians stepping into the full understanding of our walk with Christ through three main objectives:
Understand what it means to profess Jesus and call Him Lord
Practice life the way He taught us to live it with knowing God as the ultimate goal
Search for what He is doing each day in order to follow faithfully
Our Senior High Ministry is called “Light”. Like Spark, the name represents the continuation of the fire of God in our lives. This is our ministry designed for grades 9-10. Here we focus on the responsibilities of growing leaders in our church. From leading worship and messages to training the next generation, our Sr High ministries engage our Youth with 4 main objectives in mind:
Identify the specific gifts that God has given to each of us
Answer God’s call for each of our lives
Equip and prepare ourselves to lead others in our faith
Go and light the world around you
Youth Gatherings
Wednesday Night Youth Group & Worship
Our Youth gathers to learn the Word of God so that they may pursue God through worship, videos, teaching, prayer, games and fellowship. This takes place on Wednesday nights in the Family Life Center (FLC) from 6:30-8 PM. Building opens at 6 PM.
Confirmation is the “next step” in a young person’s life in which they choose to become a follower of Jesus. As many are baptized as infants, this is a choice to proclaim one’s faith and become a full member in the church. We offer Confirmation classes that run from the beginning of the year through the spring. For more information, click Confirmation.
Special Events
Throughout the year we have several special events ranging from in house lazer tag wars to whirly ball trips and much more. These trips are designed to mix fun and faith out in the real world with different challenges for each activity. Sometimes we pray for someone we don’t know. Sometimes it’s making sure that each staff member is thanked and appreciated for taking care of us. These events help us to constantly look for ways God can use us to share His love.
Youth Missions
Our Youth Ministries strive to create several opportunities a year to participate in mission work both in town, and even across the world. Everything we do starts with Christ and what He has called each of us to do, which is share the Gospel with all nations. Mission work to help those in need is our foundation!
CTCYM – Both our Jr and Sr High participate in the Central Texas Conference Youth in Missions program. The Sr. High trips take us to neighboring states each summer, while our Jr. High travel to various parts of Texas. We are given the opportunity to provide work ranging from construction to lawn care to needy families in the communities that we are serving. Each trip lasts a week and we’re blessed to be able to share what God accomplished through us the following Sunday when we get back.
In-Town Missions – Our in town missions program allows us to search in our own community for folks in need. It allows us to look outside of ourselves, as well as gives us a chance to be the hands and feet of Christ to our neighbors. Each in town mission project can range from a day’s worth of work to a month, whatever is need really. God calls us to always be ready to serve and to love your neighbor as yourself!
